Unit 19-Learning Aim B
FORMATS AND CONVENTIONS OF SCRIPTS
TELEVISION SCRIPTS
Flexi narrative: Usually a long-running television drama with a large cast of characters and a convoluted storyline. The show's interweaving narratives' many twists and turns challenge audiences and keep them guessing about how the many stories will unfold.
Multi strand narrative which is when a program develops, the narrative strand interweave until the final conclusion, one strand may continue to a new episode.
FILM SCRIPTS
A film needs a good GODD analysis to have a good storyline of the film. We need to think about the goal for the scene something to strive for. Make it a primary story goal which then gives us an obstacle which gives the storyline a way to have a turn. There could be multiple obstacles in a story line which are seemingly conspiring against your character. If your characters aren't experiencing some kind of dilemma, the stake of the scene will be non-existent and their emotions will fail.
RADIO SCRIPTS
A radio could bee a conversation or a drama. The conversation will start with questions, usually its an interview. If its a radio drama its usually an audio with sound effect in it to make it more realistic.
Evaluation
With scripts there are 3 main sectors radio, television and film. Some features of these sectors are the same and some are different. Film script have a very strict rule or same font, capitalization rule and format however this is not the same for television and radio. Films start with a transition which may include fade in or black screen, some of these are on the top left and others are on the top right. All scripts start with a scene heading to give a clear outline when and where the scene is happening. Film screen heading have a specific format, this must be all in capitals. An example of a film subheading is
EXT. SUBURBAN HOME - NIGHT
However for television and radio it can be in any font for subheading and doesn't need to be in all capitals. Sometimes even it doesn't have to have the Ext you can just write outside and location. A film is written with no cuts as its a long hours script, unlike television and radio they have to cut and are written in scenes for commercial breaks.

For resubmission I added a paragraph for each script which is the conventions. I also wrote an evaluation as I wasn't able to get that done before.
